Abstract
Airborne imaging spectrometer OMIS-II was mounted on an airplane as a remot e sensor to survey the water quality of Lake Taihu. A simple chlorophyll al gorithm for OMIS- II was created by using the reflectance ratio of the band 21 to band 18. Alga chlorophyll distribution in the study area was estimat ed from OMIS-II images. Comparison between predicted and measured chlorophy ll concentrations was given. The results show that OMIS-II can increase the accuracy of quantitative remote sensing of alga chlorophyll and may be a p owerful sensor for monitoring surface water quality.
