Lasing regimes of a Nd : glass laser with passive Q switching and self-phas
e conjugation in an active medium and a LiF : F-2(-) crystal are studied. I
t is demonstrated that the use of a spatial-angular selector based on a Sag
nac interferometer and additional amplification allow the generation of sin
gle-mode radiation with an energy in a train of pulses higher than 15 J, a
peak power of a single pulse in a train up to 1.4 MW, the spatial brightnes
s exceeding 10(14) W/cm(2) sr, and the coherence length in excess of 5 m.
