The method of numerical simulation is employed to analyze the ionization of
the Is state of a hydrogen atom in a strong radiation field under conditio
ns when the quantum energy h omega does not exceed the ionization potential
I-i. Specific features of the spectrum of an atom dressed with a strong ra
diation field are discussed, and the mechanisms behind the stabilization ef
fect accompanying the multiphoton ionization of a system in strong fields a
re investigated.
