We propose a universal approach describing the incoherent polarization brem
sstrahlung of a fast charged particle scattered by a multielectron atom in
terms of a normalized Compton profile of X-ray scattering. This approach wa
s substantiated both within the framework of the statistical model of an at
om and with the use of the results of extensive simulations for an approxim
ate scaling of the normalized Compton profile, We calculate the spectral an
d velocity dependences of the cross section of incoherent polarization brem
sstrahlung for a fast nonrelativistic proton scattered by a multielectron a
tom. Using the approximation of exponential screening for the electron dens
ity of the target core modified to include the contribution of the K shell
in a special way, we analyze the relation between coherent and incoherent p
olarization bremsstrahlung within a broad range of parameters of the proble
m.
