Application of pulsed field gradient diffusion edited NMR has been successf
ully used for the analysis of solid-phase resin. A comparison between the L
ED and bipolar LED pulse sequence is presented. Compounds that were not cov
alently attached to the resin, including the solvent system, can be effecti
vely attenuated using the bipolar LED sequence without signal distortion. T
he resulting proton spectrum can then be interpreted as compounds that were
attached to the solid support. This methodology has also been demonstrated
with the use of the bipolar LED edited COSY sequence in which COSY correla
tions from only the attached compounds are observed. Copyright (C) 2000 Joh
