Abstract
Complexes of tri-, di- and mono-organosilicon(IV) chlorides with the Schiff base N,N'- ethylenebis (salicylideneimine) have been prepared and characte rized by elemental analyses and spectroscopic (IR, H-1, C-13 and Si-29 NMR) studies. Molecular weight determination in chloroform reveals the monomeri c nature of these complexes. These data support the binding of oxygen to si licon(IV) with an octahedral geometry.
