Abstract
The treatment of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) with Co-2(CO)(8) resu lted in hexa(3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane)cobalt(II) bis(tetracarbonylcobal tate) 1, the co-hydrolysis of which with APTES, tetraethoxysilane, MeSi(OMe )(3) and HO(Me2SiO)(n)OH afforded cobalt-containing xerogels or transparent films.
