On the Holocene sedimentation history of the eastern Kara Sea

A bottom sediment core with a length of about 8 m sampled in the eastern Ka ra Sea near the entrance to the Vil'kitskii Strait was studied. An age mode l was constructed based on four C-14 datings obtained using the acceleratin g mass spectrometry method. The results of the grain-size, chemical, minera logical, and foraminiferal analyses were adjusted to the model. A paleocean ological interpretation of the data under consideration together with the p aleoclimatic data on Bolshevik Island, located in the neighborhood, was per formed.
