Experiments were carried out to study boron co-precipitation with iron hydr
oxide from seawater. The high efficiency of boron removal from the solution
s is ascertained. It is shown that the B/Fe ratio in the precipitated iron
hydroxide is higher by an order than that in the exhalation component of me
talliferous sediments. It is supposed that the removal of the sorbed boron
takes place in the course of the aging of iron hydroxide at the stage of di
agenesis.
