The research is based on the long-term instrumental measurements of the wav
es in the northeastern part of the Black Sea. The correlation and spectral
structure of the waves are studied. The statistical properties of steady-st
ate conditions interpreted as "storms" and "weather windows" are investigat
ed. A genetic classification by types of waves and classes of storms is pro
posed. Probabilities of each of the classes and transformation from one cla
ss to another are evaluated.
