The frequency dependences of magnetic losses for soft magnetic alloys in am
orphous and nanocrystalline states were studied in detail in a frequency ra
nge of 0-100 Hz in steps of 1-2 Hz. It was shown that the frequency depende
nce of losses per cycle of magnetization reversal has the shape of a resona
nce curve. An absorption maximum was found at frequencies of 20-40 Hz; it i
s typical of the magnetic induction range where the displacement of 90 degr
ees domain walls is the dominant process of magnetization reversal. The for
mation of the maximum is explained within the theory of directional orderin
g and relaxation of axes of nonmagnetic atomic pairs. The maximum has a com
plex multiplet structure, which is likely to be related to the relaxation o
f axes of atomic pairs of several different types.
