Abstract
In the framework of the theory of second-order phase transitions the magnet ic contribution to the bulk modulus of a ferromagnet in magnetic fields is studied as a function of temperature. This contribution is established to r esult from the influence of magnetostriction on the Landau thermodynamic co efficients. The calculation results and experimental data are compared for a case of the ferromagnetic gadolinium.
