Copolymers of N-alkylmethacrylamides with various isomers of N-methacryloyl
aminobenzoic acids were synthesized and used to obtain the macromolecular m
etal complexes (MMCs) with Tb3+ ions in aqueous solutions. The luminescence
spectra of Tb3+ ions in these MMCs were measured, the composition and stru
ctural features of complexes were determined, and stability of these system
s was assessed. For this purpose, stability of the Tb3+-copolymer contacts
was studied in the systems involving polymer-competitors (polyacrylic and p
olymethacrylic acids). The effect of Tb3+ ions on the structural organizati
on of macromolecules was characterized by the relaxation times determined u
sing the method of polarized luminescence.
