Reactions of intermetallic compounds ScFe2 and ScNi2 with ammonia (initial
pressure 0.6-0.8 MPa) in the presence of NH4Cl as an activator (10 wt% of i
ntermetallic compound) was studied. A possibility was shown of obtaining at
various temperatures both crystalline hydrides of intermetallic compounds
and finely dispersed amorphous reaction products. Intermetallic compounds d
ecompose in ammonia atmosphere above 450 degrees C.
