Kg. Konopleva et al., Unsealed ultrasound-assisted synthesis of cadmium and lead iodide intercalation compounds, RUSS J IN C, 45(8), 2000, pp. 1164-1167
The ultrasonic effect on the interaction and phase composition of compounds
of cadmium and lead iodides with organic cyclic amines such as pyridine (p
y), piperidine (pp), and aniline tan) was studied. The samples were charact
erized by thermal and X-ray powder diffraction analyses; their NQR and IR s
pectra were recorded. Novel, ultimately, intercalated phases were prepared:
PbI(2)pp(8.3+/-0.2), CdI(2)py(4.3+/-0.2), and CdI(2)py(6.0+/-0.2). The ult
rasonic treatment significantly shortened the equilibration time in the sys
tems in question. Complex formation proved to be more profitable in terms o
f energy for the CdI2-py, CdI2-an, and CdI2-pp systems.
