Abstract
Congruently melting compounds and glasses of the composition La(7)Ln(7)(GeO 4)(2)(BO3)(6)O-8 (Ln = Tb, Dy, Ho, Er) having a Ln(14)(GeO4)(2)(BO3)(6)O-8 (Ln = Pr-Gd) were obtained. Rare-earth elements (REE) were suggested to be glass formers.
