Palladium(II) complexes with polydentate sulfur- and nitrogen-containing ligands

A new polydentate thia aza ligand, 4,7-dithiadecane-2,9-dione dithiosemicar bazone (DTDTH2) and Pd(II) complexes Pd(DTDTH2)Cl-2 and Pd(PDTO)(ClO4)(2) ( PDTO is 1,8-bis(2'-pyridyl)-3,6-dithiaoctane) were synthesized. The resulti ng compounds were characterized by elemental analysis and electronic, IR, a nd H-1 NMR spectroscopy. Pd(PDTO)(ClO4)(2) was characterized by X-ray cryst allography: a = 14.076(6) Angstrom, b = 14.230(5) Angstrom, c = 11.263(4) A ngstrom; gamma= 109.36(3)degrees, space group P112(1)/a; V= 2128(3) Angstro m(3); rho(calcd) = 1.903(2) g/cm(3); R = 0.0395; R-w = 0.0434. The structur e of Pd(DTDTH2)Cl-2 was discussed based on a comparison of the spectroscopi c data for the compounds obtained.
