Abstract
Successively reacting a ClF3 or BrF3 fluorinated graphite intercalation com pound (FGIC) with acetonitrile and octafluorotoluene yields stage 1 and 2 i ntercalates with an identity period of the order 10 and 15 Angstrom, respec tively. The individuality of the intercalates obtained was checked by IR an d F-19 NMR spectroscopies, X-ray diffraction, and elemental analysis.
