Abstract
Results on the temperature dependencies of the surface DC electrical conduc tivity sigma, both before and after gamma irradiation of ultra high molecul ar polyethylene (UHMWPE) and polypropylene (PP) implanted by 30 keV carbon at different doses ranging from D = 5 x 10(14) C(+)cm(-2) to 2 x 10(17) C()cm(-2) are presented and discussed. Thermal activation energies obtained f rom the linear part of the curves are analyzed as well. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
