Je. Sienkiewicz et al., Exchange contributions to spin polarization in low-energy electron scattering from Xe and Hg, ACT PHY P A, 98(1-2), 2000, pp. 41-46
The contribution of exchange interactions is investigated for spin polariza
tion of electrons which are scattered elastically from xenon and mercury at
the energy of 1.5 eV. We find that election exchange between the bound-sta
te and the scattered electron gives rise to a substantial spin polarization
in both cases.
