A VLA image of a pair of galactic chimneys emerging from the core of the st
arburst galaxy M82 is presented. The area of our images corresponds to the
the base of the superwind from M82. The presence of these chimneys implies
that the ejection of material into the halo does not occur smoothly from th
e starburst core of M82. Instead, very localised venting of hot gas is in e
vidence.
