The HgZn exciplex was produced in the B0(+) state by irradiating a Hg-Zn va
pour mixture at temperatures in the range 600-900 degrees C with 2572 Angst
rom cw or 2660 Angstrom pulsed laser light. The B0(+) --> X0(+) fluorescenc
e band was recorded, as well as the time evolutions of various components p
resent in the fluorescence spectrum, providing some additional insight into
the possible mechanism of the exciplex formation.
