Optically active copolyesters based on axially dissymmetric 1,1'-binaphthal
ene-2,2'-diyl units have been prepared and characterized by specific rotati
on, C-13-NMR and CD spectra. The results show that the rotation signs of tr
ibasic copolyesters or the mixture of corresponding homopolyesters obey a t
hree dimensional quadrant pattern. The composition of the copolyesters was
determined from C-13-NMR spectra to be triad sequence distributions and cor
responding with the ratio by feed.
