Abstract
In empirical;studies concerning comparison of economic structures and/or st ructural changes of economies, it is quite useful to employ an aggregate in dex to describe the structural difference (similarity). This paper offers a n axiomatic characterization of the measurement of structural difference be tween economies that leads to some difference (similarity) index which is p ractically useful in empirical studies.
