C. Condevaux-lanloy et E. Fragniere, An approach to deal with uncertainty in energy and environmental planning:the MARKAL case, ENV MOD ASS, 5(3), 2000, pp. 145-155
This paper presents a new concept to include uncertainty management in ener
gy and environmental planning models developed in algebraic modeling langua
ges. SETSTOCH is a tool for linking algebraic modeling languages with speci
alized stochastic programming solvers. Its main role is to retrieve from th
e modeling language a dynamically ordered core model (baseline scenario) th
at is sent automatically to the stochastic solver. The case presented herei
n concerns such a study realized with the IEA-MARKAL model used by many res
earch teams around the world.
