Abstract
A 48-year-old woman underwent total parathyroidectomy with autotransplantat ion into the eft forearm due to secondary hyperparathyroidism. Recurrence o f hyperparathyroidism was observed years later. B-mode high-resolution ultr asonography of the left forearm demonstrated an ill-defined hypoechoic lesi on. Frequency- and amplitude-encoded Doppler sonography revealed marked hyp ervascularity, which was diagnostic for graft hyperplasia in association wit h the history of the patient. These findings were confirmed by scintigraphy and histological examination of the excised graft.
