Abstract
A new species of frogfish, Antennatus flagellatus, is described on the basis of two specimens from Kashiwajima Island Kochi Pref., southern Japan. It is distinguished from congeneric species as follows: illiciu m long, more than 40% SL and about 3.6 times length of second dorsal s pine; caudal peduncle present.
