Abstract
A bending test is carried out for the evaluation of the anti-galling perfor mance of a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coated tool in aluminum sheet forming. The DLC coated tool is found to have an excellent anti-galling performance in aluminum sheet forming. White spindle oil without chloride EP-additive such as chlorinated paraffin can be used as lubricant. In the case of ordin ary tools, white spindle oil lubricant without chloride causes severe galli ng. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
