Abstract
Monometallic [Pd-3(PW9O34)(2)](12-), [Pd-3(PW9O34)(2)PdnOxHy](q-) (where on the average n = 3), bimetallic [Pd2Cu(PW9O34)(2)](12-), [Pd2Fe(PW9O34)(2)] (11-), [PdFe2(PW9O34)(2)](10-) and a mixture of [Pd-3(PW9O34)(2)PdnOxHy](q- ) (n(av) approximate to 10) + [(VO)(3)(PW9O34)(2)](9-) complexes were prepa red and characterized by NMR P-31, W-183, V-51 and IR spectroscopy. The com plexes were tested in catalysis of O-2 + H-2 reaction and benzene oxidation to phenol with O-2/H-2. Effectiveness of the catalytic performance depende d on the composition of the complexes. Bimetallic Pd(II)-Fe(III) complexes were several times more active in phenol production than Pd(II) monometalli c systems. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
