Drying is a key stage in numerous technological processes in the preparatio
n of adsorbents and catalysts. A very efficient method preserving the quali
ty of dried material is adsorption-contact drying (ACD). To calculate the r
ate of the mass transfer in the process of the ACD, it is necessary to have
the data on the ratio between the gas-phase and liquid-phase transfer of m
oisture. A method to determine the rates for gas-phase and liquid-phase tra
nsfer of moisture in the process of mass transfer in porous materials is su
ggested. The data obtained agree well with the existing theoretical concept
s about the liquid-phase transfer of moisture under the mechanical contact
