Abstract
The use of radiation therapy in the management of intramedullary spinal cor d tumors remains controversial. Several studies indicate that the use of po stoperative radiation therapy modestly improves both local control and surv ival in spinal cord ependymomas and astrocytomas. Modern treatment planning and imaging allow more accurate target definition and respect for related normal tissue tolerances.
