Primary omentitis as a cause of acute abdomen

A 5-year-old boy admitted with localized lower abdominal pain and tendernes s simulating acute appendicitis underwent surgery, and primary omentitis wi thout appendicitis or other cause of an acute abdomen was diagnosed. The ab sence of other concomitant signs and symptoms of acute abdomen was remarkab le. This is the first case of primary omentitis as a cause of acute abdomen in the English-language literature.
