Abstract
Isotopic lines of carbonyl sulfide, (OCS)-O-16-C-12-S-34 in the nu(3) regio n (band center 2061.446 cm(-1)) are identified for the first time in balloo n-borne and ground-based high-resolution (0.003 cm(-1)) solar absorption sp ectra. A quantitative analysis of the balloon-borne data is reported. The i sotopic abundance may reveal the origins of the carbonyl sulfide in the atm osphere. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd.
