Abstract
Salmonella typhimurium reverse mutation assay (Ames test) was used for dete cting the mutagenicity and antimutagenicity of Cu(II) acetylsalicylate as w ell as his ronicol adduct. No significant increase in the number of His+ re vertant colonies could by observed in the range of concentrations tested wh ether in the absence or in the presence of a metabolic activation with Salm onella typhimurium TA97, TA98, TA100 and TA102. Cu(II) compounds statistica lly significantly decreased the number of revertants induced by 2-aminoanth racene and 2-aminofluorene.
