K. Jochmann et al., Influence of pressure and temperature on in sacco degradation of dry matter and crude protein of barley-rape-mixtures in the rumen of sheep, LANDBAU VOL, 50(1-2), 2000, pp. 50-53
Content and digestibility of the crude protein in the diet are important fo
r dairy cow nutrition. Another important point is the part of protein from
concentrates which pass the rumen undegraded.
The influence of different treatments on the degradability of protein from
barley- and rapeseed-mixtures in the rumen of sheep and the part of by-pass
protein where studied by the nylonbag tin sacco)-technique. The feedstuffs
(barley, expeller of rapeseed, rapeseed meal and with different pressure a
nd temperature expanded mixtures of them) where incubated in the rumen of f
our fistulated wethers for 0, 2, 4, 8, 16, 24 and 48 hours.
The different treatments (heat and pressure) of mixtures from barley, rapes
eed expeller and rapeseed meal had no influence on the rumen degradability
of dry matter and crude protein. The additivity of the degradabilities was
sufficient.
