C. Bullmann et al., Small intestine infarction in adults: Schoenlein-Henoch-syndrome with multi-organ involvement, LEBER MAG D, 30(5), 2000, pp. 207-210
The Henoch-Schonlein syndrome is a vasculitis presenting with purpura, poly
arthritis, intestinal symptoms and glomerulonephritis. Rarely manifestation
s of lung and central nervous system are seen. We describe a case of adult
Henoch-Schonlein syndrome presenting with severe infarction of the small in
testine followed by skin-, kidney- and central nervous system manifestation
s. Good remission under immunosuppression demonstrates the effectiveness of
corticosteroids even in a case of severe multi-organ manifestation of Heno
ch-Schonlein syndrome.
