Abstract
A novel ferrocene-modified bis(spirobenzopyran) was designed and synthesize d. The spirobenzopyran possesses two photochromic moieties, which were teth ered to two cyclopenta-dienyl rings of ferrocene via ethynediyl spacers. Ph otochromic properties of the spirobenzopyran were investigated in the absen ce and presence of various metal cations.
