Abstract
The intercalation of O-2 in C-60 and C-70 Solids have been studied. In both gas effusion Spectra of C-60 and C-70 powder exposed to O-2 at room temper ature, two evolution peaks of O-2 are found near 80 and 150 degrees C. In b oth C-60 and C-70 powder, the peak near 80 degrees C does not depend on a h eating ratio and the peak near 150 degrees C shifts to higher temperature w ith the heating ratio. The activation energy on diffusion of O-2 in C-60 an d C-70 solids are similar to 0.27eV and similar to 0.46eV, respectively. Th e number of O-2 intercalated in C-70 powder is larger than that in C60 powd er. Electron spin density of 02-intercalated C-60 film is larger than that of C-70 film. The effect on the properties of C-60 and C-70 solids by the i ntercalation of O-2 are discussed.
