Abstract
A method for visualization of phase objects using incoherent illumination, which is based on the image enhancement due to an illumination gradient, is presented. The technique presented here is very simple to implement, and n either special optical elements nor complicated image processing are requir ed. The method has potential application for gas-leak detection in industri al environments. Validation experiments are presented. (C) 2000 Elsevier Sc ience B.V. All rights reserved.
