Abstract
The electronic structure of La7/8Sr1/8MnO3 was studied by using the rotatio n-invariant LSDA (local spin density approximation)+U formalism. We found t he specific kind of charge and orbital order for ferromagnetic insulating s olution in a 2aX2bX4c supercell, where a, b, and c denote cubic perovskite axes. The holes are distributed over three-line stripes in every second ac plane along the a axis. The stabilization mechanism of the hole stripe is a ttributed to strong p-d hybridization.
