The existence of a complete series of mixed crystals Bi2O2(TexSe1-x), 0 les
s than or equal to x less than or equal to 1 in the pseudobinary system Bi2
O2Se/Bi2O2Te has been detected by solid state reactions.
The crystal structure of the ternary phase Bi2O2Se was refined on the basis
of single crystal measurements. The crystallographic data for Bi2O2Te and
for compositions of the mixed crystals were obtained using powder x-ray mea
surements:
Bi2O2Se I4/mmm (No. 139); Z = 2; a = 3.887(1). c = 12.164(2) Angstrom,
Bi2O2Te0,5Se0,5 I4/mmm (No. 139); Z = 2; a = 3.934(1), c = 12.454(2) Angstr
om,
Bi2O2Te I4/mmm (No. 139); Z = 2; a = 3.983(1), c = 12.699(2) Angstrom.
