Abstract
Thirty patients were submitted to a totally laparoscopic aortobifemoral byp ass (TLABF). Three had rest pain and the others incapacitating claudication . Average surgery time was 311 minutes (185-510). Mean aortic crossclamp ti me was 98 minutes (56-189) and the mean aortic anastomotic time was 49 minu tes (18-155). Mean blood loss was 653 cc (200-3050). Three patients needed conversion to laparotomy, Postoperatively, one patient developed an acute a ortic false aneurysm. One patient suddenly died on post-op day 6 after a no rmal immediate post-operative recovery. Mean postoperative hospital stay wa s 6 days. After a mean follow-up of 16 months, all bypasses are patent. TLA BF for is safe and feasible. Surgery time is now almost comparable to open surgery. Benefits similar to those shown in general surgery are expected.
