Abstract
71-year-old male was admitted for pneumonia, On physical examination, an el astic hard mass was palpable in the right upper quadrant abdomen. The patie nt was normotensive and had no hypertensive symptoms. Laboratory data were normal. Abdominal Ultrasound and CT scan were showed a tumor with internal calcification measuring 5cm in the right adrenal gland. Pheochromcytoma was unlikely. The tumor was excised laparoscopically with 4 trocars under the abdominal pressure at 10mmHg by CO2 gas. Tumorectomy was performed using La paroSonic Coagulation Shears, The operation lasted 140 minutes and bleeding was less than 50ml. Postoperative recovery was rapid and uneventful. Histo pathological examination revealed the mass to be a hemangioma of the right adrenal gland. Hemangioma of the adrenal gland is rare anti only 47 cases a re reported to the best of our knowledge. Almost of the reported cases had treated with laparotomic excision and our cas,, we belive, is the third rep ort treated with minimally invasive laparoscopic procedure.
