Abstract
Bettween January 1998 and October 1999, there were 15 successful adrenalect omies performed at Vietduc university hospital using the transperitoneal, l aparoscopic approach. There were 11 women and 4 men. The mean age was 36,8 years (range 17 - 48 years). Indications were pheochromocytoma (n=6), corti sol-producing adenomas (n=2), Conn's syndroma) (n=3), nonfunctional adenoma s (n=3) and kyst of the adrenal gland (n=1). Mean operative time was 77.1 minutes (range 30 - 160) and estimated blood l oss was 70ml (range 50 - 300). There was no mortality and no morbidity but 1 coversion to open surgery. Th e average length of hospital stay was 4.4 days (range 3 - 6). During forllow-up (range 1 - 11 months), 2 patients had still slight high b lood pressure and all the other patients is in good conditions. Laparoscopic adrenalectomy is safe, effective procedure and it decreases ho spital stay and wound infection.
