Abstract
Despite the advances, the index of appendicitis treated in complicated phas e remain high. We realized a retrospective analysis of 200 patients who wer e submitted a laparoscopic appendectomy. The operative time ranged from 16 to 130 minutes. The hospital stay was from 21 hours to 9 days. A great part (35,5%) was in complicated phase (gangrenous or perforated), The appendix has presented in the most varied positions. Seven (3,5%) developed post-ope rative intra-abdominal abscess. There were 2,5% trocar wound infections. Su rgery reintervention was not necessary. The videolaparoscopy has shown usef ul in the diagnostic and an efficient and secure method in treatment of acu te appendicitis, even in complicated cases.
