T. Urushihara et al., Gastric motility measurement by magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasonography, 7TH WORLD CONGRESS OF ENDOSCOPIC SURGERY, 2000, pp. 851-855
The aim of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI) and ultrasonography (US) to measure gastric motility in patie
nts subjected to laparoscopic assisted distal gastrectomy without preservat
ion of the pylorus (LADG, n = 10) or laparoscopic assisted pylorus-preservi
ng gastrectomy (LAPPG n = 10) was for: gastric cancer.
Gastric emptying was achieved significantly earlier in patients who underwe
nt LADG than in those who underwent LAPPG. Postoperative gastric motility w
as significantly better in patients who underwent LAPPG than in those who u
nderwent LADG as determined by both MRI and US.
