Abstract
Since fetal seizures were first reported by Badr El Din (1) there have been several case reports of fetal seizures witnessed during ultrasonography (2 , 3) with uniformly adverse outcome. We report a subgroup of women from the Western Australian Newborn Encephalopathy Study (4, 5) who presented to th eir doctors during pregnancy with concern that their baby was having fits a nd whose babies subsequently developed newborn encephalopathy.
