Abstract
The pressure-loss coefficient for a duct junction of square cross-section w as determined using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The predicted junct ion pressure-loss coefficient for combining flows was generally in good agr eement with experimental data from the literature. The junction pressure-lo ss coefficient was associated with the flow from the side branch to the duc t carrying the total flow. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserv ed.
