The behavior of a wave-field centroid with spatial dynamics described
by the Schrodinger equation is investigated analytically and numerical
ly. The consideration was made for the case of media with inertia of t
he nonlinear response. The peculiarities of the dynamics of wave-beam
self-action in the media with focusing and defocusing nonlinearities w
ere analyzed. Within a paraxial optics approximation, the behavior of
the centroid trajectory was studied qualitatively. The numerical calcu
lations of the peculiarities of a wave-beam self-action dynamics under
the conditions of nonrectilinear motion of the centroid were carried
out.
