Abstract
A frequency domain representation of a signal is sometimes necessary i n embedded system design. The multiply-accumulate (MAC) unit is an add ition to Motorola's ColdFire processor cores that provides a new level of support for signal processing algorithms. This paper discusses two types of orthogonal transforms and the issues associated with their i mplementation.
